Welcome to an off-the-grid style retreat designed to ground your feet and revive your senses. The Wildscape Studio is a fully independent structure from the main house, conveniently located adjacent to the garage.
The studio is fully self-contained, 200-square-foot compact tiny house. Tucked away on an 11-acre private homestead in the Carolina Sandhills—an ancient prehistoric beach — this cozy space is perfectly curated for comfortable short stays for couples, or restorative longer stays for solo travelers.
Whether you need to stretch your legs with a walk in the woods after long hours of driving, seek a deeply peaceful sleep after hard work, or want to experience a digital detox under the stars, this is your hidden basecamp.
Though compact, the studio is highly functional and packed with thoughtful details:
The Essentials: Relax in a comfortable reading chair, or utilize the versatile folding table that easily transitions from a dining table to a laptop-friendly work desk.
Fully Stocked Kitchenette: Equipped with everything you need to prepare simple meals.
Eco-Conscious Living: Features a private bathroom utilizing a premium, waterless electric toilet (The Separett Villa).
The Living View: Step outside your private entrance into your own semiprivate courtyard and pergola, featuring a swinging chair built for two—the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or count the stars.
Guests enjoy full access to the exceptional amenities located in our open grounds:
The Authentic Wood-Stove Sauna: Experience the heat of a traditional wood-fired sauna, then cool down with a cold-water shower or just sit on a bench in the cozy alcove and enjoy the view of the forest.
The Mediterranean Courtyard: A vibrant, shared place to grill, eat, and mingle with your hosts or fellow travelers. It features a pizza oven, a propane grill, a fire pit, and a lawn perfect for sunbathing, lawn games, and stargazing.
Our property is proudly "wildscaped" to mimic natural ecosystems, minimizing human intervention to let nature thrive.
Private Forest Trail: A short 300-foot stroll down our driveway brings you to our private, 8-acre forest. Unpack the detailed trail map from your Welcome Book and enjoy a quiet 1/3-mile loop trail through the native Sandhills woodland.
A Living Botanical Hotspot: Explore a biodiverse landscape that is home to:
More than 85 native wildflower and grass species.
39 species of trees and shrubs (including 14 varieties of native fruits, nuts, and berries).
54 documented species of birds and a thriving community of beneficial pollinators.
The Homestead Life: Check out wildscaped gardens and the flock of chickens and Pam, our vigilant resident goose, who protects our seasonal honeymooning wild ducks!
We want you to feel completely tucked away in your own world. To ensure peace and quiet, each of our rental spaces is fully independent with its own private entrance, dedicated bathroom, and designated outdoor area. To protect the privacy of both our guests and our family, the main house features a fenced-in private backyard. We kindly ask that guests do not wander into this area or explore the homestead infrastructure unaccompanied. If you would love to meet our resident chickens, say hello to Pam the goose, or explore the organic vegetable gardens and greenhouse, we would be thrilled to show you around! Just ask us, and we will happily arrange a personal guided tour.
For Bird Watching: This ecosystem is a paradise for birders. Bring your binoculars, or simply ask us—we are happy to loan you a pair.
For Forest Exploring: Bring your favorite brimmed hat; we provide mosquito nets designed to fit right over them for your walks on the trail.
Arrival: The final quarter-mile of your journey is a private, sandy road that lets you know you've truly escaped the city. Free parking for up to two vehicles is located safe and secure on-property, just 40 feet from your studio door.
