Nestled on an 11-acre private homestead in the Sandhills of southeastern North Carolina, The Library Suite is a self-contained, eco-friendly hideaway designed for ultimate well-being. Whether you are seeking a digital detox, a quiet space to write or work, or a peaceful basecamp after a long day of travel, you will find your rhythm here.

Indoor Comforts and the 2,000-Book Nook

The suite is entirely private, self-contained, and features its own private entrance with no indoor cameras or recording devices. Inside, you’ll find:

• The Book Nook: A literature lover’s dream, featuring an incredible, diverse library of more than 2,000 books lining the space.

• The Living Area: Unwind on a couch with a TV, or utilize the folding table as a dining space or laptop-friendly work desk. (Traveling with three guests? The couch easily converts into a comfortable bed).

• Fully Stocked Kitchenette: Equipped with everything you need to brew your morning coffee and make simple meals.

• Modern Essentials: Includes a private bathroom and an in-suite washer and dryer.

• A Room with a View: Peer out your window to ponder a natural pond filled with water lilies, cattails and carnivorous pitcher plants.

Wildscaping, Trails and Outdoor Living

Our property is proudly "wildscaped." We actively mimic natural ecosystems and cultivate native plants to invite an abundance of birds, pollinators and local wildlife.

• The Authentic Wood-Stove Sauna: Located across the lawn from the Mediterranean courtyard, our traditional wood-fired sauna is the ultimate wellness escape. It features a cozy alcove with a bench to cool down between sessions and a refreshing cold-water shower. Fully protected from the sun and rain, it offers a peaceful, unobstructed view directly into the quiet woods.

• Private Forest Trail: Take a short, 300-foot stroll down our driveway to reach the edge of the woods. There, you can step onto a private, 1/3-mile loop trail winding through 8 acres of protected forest. (A detailed trail map is tucked right inside your Suite Welcome Book!)

• The Mediterranean Courtyard: A beautiful, shared hideaway featuring a fire pit, grilling area, and a native lawn. It’s the ultimate spot for sunbathing by day and stargazing at night.

• The Homestead Life: Wander past our greenhouse and organic gardens full of seasonal fruits and herbs. You can even spot our chicken flock right from the bathroom window! Keep an ear out for Pam, our friendly goose, who likes to occasionally honk a greeting into the night. Pam has taken it upon herself to fiercely protect a wild duck couple who returns every single season to "honeymoon" on the property and raise their ducklings.

Our Eco-Friendly Commitment

We are passionate about lessening our environmental impact to preserve the planet. We compost, strictly avoid harsh chemical detergents, and never use artificial fragrance fresheners. To support this mission, we provide free recycling and food-leftover compost pickups throughout your stay, no matter the length.

Arrival & Helpful Notes

• The Scenic Route: The final quarter-mile of your drive is a private sandy road that sets the tone for your escape.

• Parking: Free on-site parking for up to two vehicles is located just 60 feet from your suite entrance.

• Pets: Please ensure you thoroughly review our house rules before booking if you plan to bring a dog or children.

• Bedding Setup: The sofa bed is automatically prepared for reservations of three guests. For two guests who prefer separate beds, a small per-stay setup fee applies.
